The album features eleven songs - nine originals and two unique covers: Gershwin's Summertime and Rachmaninoff's Vocalise. Although a few of the new tracks showcase zomer's electric guitar with a punch, his instrumentation is a little simpler this time and focuses a bit more on acoustic sounds, including violin and cello. As on his first album, there are some guest appearances here too, one lending a wistful but powerful voice to zomer's rendition of Rachmaninoff's classic. There is another voice on this record that is not included in the credits, but it's hardly a mystery. In the second song, zomer delivers his message about his songs of the wood.
All proceeds from this album go to JUST CAUSE CANADA, a not-for-profit grassroots educational outreach for kids in Uganda. You can check out this great cause at justcausecanada.org
